(After you are done with part 1 you will want to continue on to the next step for more visual aid and help in a Special Surprise on How To Make Paper Flower Crafts!)
The delightful and relaxing hobby of making paper flower crafts may just alleviate awkward situations.
Last summer my sister and my brother in law along with their six old year niece relocated to my town. They stayed with my wife and I until they found a suitable home for themselves. In the meantime my little niece began withdrawing and displayed a melancholy demeanor. She was feeling lonely and like a stranger in a new environment and we recognized that she needed to make a few friends to become more comfortable and familiar with her new surroundings.
Making paper flower crafts was a hobby of mine and when my niece took an interest in it also, it seemed to help cheer her up to a certain degree. On my street there are a couple of kids her age and I decided to talk with their parents and invite them over to meet my niece.
They all quickly became friendly when I got them to make some paper flower craft projects. Thanks to the comradery that our paper flower crafts introduced my niece has now settled in to her new environment.
Here is your first project we all did together…

(After watching this video you may want to check out this special surprise on Origami Flower Diagrams!)
Hi everyone. Here is a new video I came across by Lisa Shea. This video is one of the best I have seen as she explains properly and goes slow enough for beginners to learn. I found it when I happened to look over Erich Simko’s Squidoo Lense.
I think most origami flower instructions offline and online suck but this video is pretty good!
Enjoy and have fun. (more…)

(If after reading this article you decide origami flowers making is for you, you will probably want to know about this How To Make Origami Flowers Special Surprise!)
Hey, again!
Today I received a comment from someone named Meryl, and I thought that my answer to her would benefit everyone who may be in the same situation.
Her comment was in this blog post:
http://blog.paper-flowers.org/?p=3
Meryl wants to learn and make origami paper flowers, but only for one special occasion. She says she doesn’t have time to do them afterwards.
But I have actually had a minority of people email me saying they ‘don’t’ want to learn and that they just want a flower (I think they were actually asking for me to make them one and snail mail it to them!) and other emails that tipped me off that a minority of people just aren’t willing to do them. (After learning how to make a paper flower bouquet you’ll most likely be interested in knowing about this How To Make Paper Flowers Special Surprise!)
I found this paper origami flower video online and thought I’d share it since it’s not in my origami book.
It’s kind of a cool video of someone making a paper flower but one of my usual gripes is that they go WAY too fast. It’s like they are trying to look cool and not teach. You can even tell by the music that it sounds like they’re in a race!
Anyhow, it’s still a pretty cool video and if you can manage to follow along it’s a great origami flower for you to learn.
Very pretty. Enjoy. (more…)

Here is a post by someone I found at another blog.
In it she asks how to make an origami crown or where to find out how to make one. After her post was someone who recommended their web site to buy origami flowers ready made.
This didn’t really answer her question so I did reply. Here is her post pasted here followed by my reply… (more…)

(After reading this entry you may very well want to check this special surprise on How To Make Origami Flowers for Beginners!)
If you’ve downloaded the free sample of “So, You Want To Know… How To Make Paper Flowers” from the main web site you’ll already know the base fold upon which you will base the Water Lily. There really is nothing to it. What you will do is create a smaller version and place it in the larger origami fold.
I’ll go over the base fold instructions again to refresh your memory just in case it hasn’t completely sunk in but I’ll explain it in less detail because it’s part of the free sample from the web site, which you can get anyway. (more…)

Hello and welcome to www.Paper-Flowers.org - the home of the book “So, You Want To Know… How To Make Paper Flowers”, which was written for kids, adult beginners or anyone who has an interest in paper flowers and especially origami flowers.
The reason for creating this book is because online, and even offline, while there is no shortage of information on how to make paper crafts, the quality of such information usually leaves very much to be desired.
Let’s face it. Most of these web sites, articles, Squidoo lenses, blogs, etc., are up for one purpose and one purpose only - to get you to go to click their links, go to their websites and buy something or click on their advertisements.
Hey, there is nothing wrong with that in and of itself. We all like traffic and plenty of visitors to our blogs and web sites and there is nothing wrong with providing value to visitors in giving honest reviews of products or services and getting rewarded for it. However, most of these virtual real estate owners have no interest in providing people with real honest reviews and opinions.
Most never even try a product or service but tell you that it’s great. Most of these web sites are designed to place advertisements, so that when you do a search for “origami flowers” on Google, for example, you find them, click on their links thinking you are going to get some decent information but you see a bare or ugly page, usually with links that lead to pages with more links and advertisements that have text about what you were looking for but you end up in these loops.
The better looking web sites may look okay and legit but often they are telling you that such and such book or whatever is great, or simply saying “Recommended”, but how can they recommend them when they know nothing about it? It’s not like they read every single book and can honestly recommend it.
Well, again, that’s not to say everything out there is a front. Many people do provide you with good value and information or help you find something you were looking for. But when it comes to paper flowers, you may very well find half baked information and “made for Google Adsense” web sites that don’t offer much.
Personally I had a hard time. I thought that most videos online were too fast and not good enough to let the viewer grasp what was happening in order to learn the origami flowers they were showing. Text instructions were poor and illustrations, even photographs, weren’t so great and often were left out. I’d be like, “Um, okay, there are two steps here in a row that don’t have any visual reference to go by so how am I supposed to know what I am doing is correct?” The real physical weren’t much better for what is wanted and necessary to look for in order to learn more easily and well.
So, after digging through everything the hard way I decided that I wanted to write a book that turned out to be 54 pages long, with about 10 or so origami flowers, with comprehensively written instructions and illustrations for evey step and sometimes even inbetween steps, like what the folds look like as you are doing them between point A and point B. I also decided that I couldn’t please everyone so I was only going to write this thing and make it just for flowers. There are no cranes, elephants, or airplanes here. This is just for flowers.
And I think this is a good thing because now the 30,000 people (Probably much more. That number is based on some research software but search numbers can often be much, much higher than what is reflected in the numbers given) that look for how to make paper flowers, origami flowers, etc., every single month and who are likely beginners can now avoid the hassle of digging around through crap to find something useful here and there and in one no fluff volume can get…
- A very well written book to get them started in origami flowers
- Very good illustrations for every step and in between steps
- Comprehensive instructions
- No fluff and just to the point
- Everything is just about flowers
- … and many other benefits that come from eliminating the unnecessary garbage
I took a chance on this one not knowing whether or not it was a waste of time, but the web site is new and things are starting to look promising. But whatever path you wish to take to learn origami flowers I wish you all the best.
I intend to update this blog with any relevant news, offers, free origami flower lessons, etc., as I can and if there is enough interest. Judging from the traffic and sign ups at the main web site it definitely looks like there is and worth pursuing.
Let me know what I can do for you!
All the best and until next time,
William
